Bothaville, South Africa – May 21, 2025 – BAIC South Africa wrapped up a highly successful showing at NAMPO Harvest Day 2025, which took place from May 13 to 16 at NAMPO Park in Bothaville. Thousands of visitors experienced the rugged innovation of BAIC’s lineup firsthand, with the standout attraction being the South African debut of the B40 Honor Edition.
BAIC drew significant attention with a full display of its latest models – including the B40 Honor Edition, the well-known B40 Plus, and the dynamic X55. The live 4x4 track demonstrations allowed visitors to get behind the wheel and test the B40’s off-road strength in real-world conditions, further proving the vehicle’s capability in rough terrain.
B40 Honor Edition Impresses Crowds
The B40 Honor Edition – revealed for the first time in South Africa – proved to be a crowd-puller. Based on the City Hunter trim, the Honor Edition adds electric seat adjustment and a sunroof to an already extensive feature list. It retains the B40’s robust powertrain: a 2.0L Turbo Petrol engine producing 160 kW and 320 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle’s off-road features, including ESP, TCS, HAC, and HDC, were put to the test on the NAMPO 4x4 track – with stellar results.
